A bird gender test based on a small feather sample is the easiest way to tell if your bird (especially a parrot) is a male or a female. This is the only reliable way to sex a parrot, because most parrot species are monomorphic (i.e. there is no visual difference between male and female). Even if a breeder tells you an African Grey, Senegal Parrot, Amazon, Macaw, etc. is a male or a female, based on her/his "experience" she/he is just guessing.
This is how I tested my Senegal parrot, Coco, to see if it's a boy or a girl. You can do this too with your birds. Here's where to go for a DNA test for your bird, if you are in the UK:
